Protect Minority Languages Before They Disappear Forever

A language dies every two weeks. With each lost language, humanity loses an irreplaceable way of understanding the world, a unique cultural heritage, and the identity of a people. Many minority language communities are fighting for their children to learn their ancestral tongue — but face inadequate funding, lack of teachers, and absence of official recognition. We call on the EU Commission and national governments to fund minority language education programs, support cultural institutions that preserve linguistic heritage, ensure official recognition and use of minority languages, and ratify international conventions on linguistic rights.
