"Climate disasters are getting worse — modern emergency systems save lives."

The Issue

Climate change is making extreme weather events more frequent and more deadly. Floods, wildfires, earthquakes, and hurricanes are testing emergency response systems that were designed for a different era. Communities with the least resources are always hit hardest. Early warning systems, community evacuation plans, and resilient infrastructure save lives — but they require investment and political will. We demand comprehensive early warning systems for all high-risk communities, regular disaster preparedness drills and public education campaigns, resilient infrastructure that can withstand extreme weather, and dedicated emergency preparedness funding at national and local levels.
